Fusion 9 Released by Black Magic Design
As we stated in our email blast to you two days ago, Black Magic Design has released Fusion 9 and dropped the price of Fusion Studio to just $299.00USD. 
That’s pretty kick ass considering the features they have plugged into this new updated version on top of the fact that Fusion is already a world class compositing application.In early testing here by Kat, it seems to do what it says on the box and even simply loading a piece of footage, tracking it, doing a solve and then exporting without touching ANYTHING for settings does a pretty good job, but of course like anything refinement is key. The product certainly gives you the ability to do that in a classical “Fusion” sense instead of getting you to bend your brain to some alien looking GUI and terminology from a dusty book. It’s straight forward and it works. This is good! We like stuff that works!

But the application as a whole does have some small issues to get fixed before its “production ready”. For example, the keyers when using the “pick” color tool and a tablet like a wacom instantly go from the selected color (like green in the example to your right) and flips to black on the release of the pen button to finalize your choice. 
This is madness! BMD needs to do a little bit more broom work here and there but they are very fast when it comes to this stuff (at least the Fusion people are). Regardless, you cannot beat the value in this tool anywhere. It’s just a super awesome product and the price brings it into the grasp of tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of artists out there who when faced with “nuke” or death, have a real way out. Watch out…. Foundry. There is more where this is coming from.
