zBrush and UVs...options other than polypaint?

Postby Stephen.Tarheel » Fri Oct 14, 2011 4:42 am

Good morning,

Is there a way to paint an already UVed texture in zBrush other than Polypaint? Right now my work flow is to unwrap the model in UVLayout, use that in zBrush to paint several layers that are assembled in Photoshop along with decal type assets.

Is there a way that I can apply changes directly to the UV map in zBrush while maintaining symmetry?

Thanks!

2 other methods for painting in Zbrush is using Projection Master or the Z-App Link Plugin which allows you to toggle between your favourite paint program (eg. Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc....)

Hope that helps:)

Thanks Adam and KitKat!

The Z-App Link works well for proofing and touching up maps made in 3d coat and Photoshop. Attached is a rough texture test after playing with UVLayout.

Original model done in Rhino3d 4.0 SR8 with T-Splines 3, UVLayout for UV creation, original texture map in zBrush, edited in photoshop, rendered in Lightwave, comp and color tweaking done in Fusion.
