1. Download the UberCam4-with-HyperCam ZIP from your Liberty3D store account.
2. Extract the ZIP. You’ll find:
HyperCam64.p (HyperCam camera)
Lib3D_UberCam64.p (UberCam 4 cameras)
HyperCamSensorx64.p (HyperCam Sensor pixel filter)
HyperLook64.p (HyperLook image filter)
looks/ (film stocks, movie looks, sensor LUTs)
thumbs/ (camera body and lens thumbnails)
stmaps/ (lens distortion maps)

3. In LightWave Layout, go to Utilities > Add Plugins and add all four .p files.
4. Keep the looks/, thumbs/, and stmaps/ folders next to the plugins.

Activation

1. After purchase, you’ll receive a license key by email.
2. Open the HyperCam panel (Camera Properties > HyperCam).
3. Click “Activate” and enter your license key and Lock ID.
4. One license covers HyperCam, all UberCam cameras, and the Sensor. Two seats per license.

HyperCam — The Camera

HyperCam replaces LightWave’s camera with a real-world cinematography tool.

176 Camera Bodies: Cinema flagships (ARRI Alexa, RED, Sony Venice, Canon C500), mirrorless, DSLRs, and phones. Sensor size, crop, and native ISO follow automatically.

331 Lenses: Spherical primes, zooms, anamorphics, and 155 cine lenses with true T-stop data. The panel shows T/ for cine glass, f/ for still lenses. Depth of field uses geometric F-stop; exposure uses T-stop.

Lens Distortion: Per-lens K1/K2 plus baked STMaps. Knobs are live in VPR.

Exposure: ISO, Iris, Shutter Angle/Speed — all keyframable.

In-Camera Updates

Click “Check for Updates” at the top of the HyperCam panel. Uses your existing certificate — no key entry. If an update is available, click “Download Update”.

UberCam 4 — Specialty Cameras

Fourteen cameras for VFX, previz, and immersive work. All share the HyperCam license.

  • Perspective — Standard camera, full DOF and motion blur.
  • Spherical — 360×180 equirectangular for HDRI.
  • Panoramic — Cylindrical panorama for wide plates.
  • Fisheye — Hemispherical fisheye.
  • Cylinder — For wraparound screens / LED volumes.
  • Skybox — Six-face cube map.
  • Stereo — Side-by-side stereoscopic pair.
  • Immersive — Wide-FOV for VR/dome.
  • Overscan — Renders beyond frame edge.
  • AdvPan — Advanced panoramic.
  • RadialShift — Tilt-shift correction.
  • 12Up / 4Up — Multi-view arrays.
  • MultiCam — Multi-camera rig.

HyperCam Sensor — Film Looks

14 Film Stocks: Kodak Portra, Ektachrome, Double-X, Tri-X, Fuji Velvia, Provia, Eterna, and more.

20 Movie Looks: Curated cinematic grades.

26 Sensor Profiles: Matched to real cinema cameras. With Auto Look on, the Sensor auto-selects the matching profile and grain for your HyperCam body.

HyperLook — Look Passes for Comp

HyperLook is an Image Filter that writes separate look passes as EXR:

  • _stock — beauty + film stock LUT
  • _pregrain — beauty + stock + movie look (no grain)
  • _grain — grain only, centered on mid-grey

Comp formula (Nuke):

grain = Read(“beauty_grain_0001.exr”) – 0.5
final = Read(“beauty_pregrain_0001.exr”) + grain

Automatic Sensor coordination: When the Sensor is on, it owns beauty and HyperLook writes only the grain pass. When off, HyperLook takes over the full look. No double-application.

Troubleshooting

  • Plugin won’t activate — Check license key and Lock ID. cert.ldc must be next to the plugin.
  • Sensor shows “Linked: Default” — Body has no matching sensor profile. Falls back to default.
  • Grain EXR not saved — Set an output path in Render Options > Output.
  • Look applied twice — Update both Sensor and HyperLook. Coordination is automatic in current versions.
