Things finally cooling off…
We have had a very amazing summer! Not only just from the heat but also from the amount of activity going on for LightWave3D development, new users coming on board, more of its competition being killed off and many artists working full-time gigs in studios where we were normally shut out.
Needless to say, this is taking up a bulk of our time. We do have more tutorials and products coming but we have had to push things back because of these reasons.
In my personal situation, I’m doing full time 40+ hours a week doing nothing but LightWave3D work. All day, every day! When you add in the several months long run of 100F+ degress here in Las Vegas in a house that’s had its HVAC fail 4 times before being completely replaced (with a big crane and 6 guys on the roof no less), it’s been a challenge. Further to that, much of my spare time is consumed by music stuff as I am in the middle of rebooting my record label, Black Tiger Recordings. This obviously leaves little time for tutorials, however in the course of my daily work I have built up a massive library of new scenes using the new features of LightWave3D 2026, ready to be turned into tutorials and new packs.
Now that things are finally cooling off and the first batch of new tracks on Black Tiger are set to release very soon, I will have the time to work on these new products and finish ones I had started earlier this summer.
I am not alone in this situation as the other citizens of L3D, plus many of the LightWave3D users that I am in touch with daily, are either working on active projects, training materials or gearing up for projects. This is a very good thing.
We should see a LightWave3D 2026 update here shortly and when that drops I believe that will be the trigger for me to jump in and hammer out the first new batch of training. On the packs front, one thing I can tell you about that is very much on its way to being complete, is a new Conventional Weapons Pack for TurbulenceFD.
This pack will expand on the scene sets ups from the original which I released 10 years ago, yet optimized for modern graphics card (CUDA) types, LightWave 2026 and include new information in the form of short topic videos on how these scenes were put together and what really makes them work. So be on the look out for that.
We won’t be doing the “back to school” sale this year, but October is fast approaching 🙂
In the mean time, stay happy fluffy, consider unpacking a sweater and check back soon.
