I was really hoping that the new Star Trek show would be a LightWave show. CBS has it’s own in house VFX team that from what I understand is largely Max based but I think for Discovery they are doing with the tried, tested and true LightWave3D which is essentially “The Star Trek 3D package” or “Space ship show 3D animation software” as established over the course of the last 20+ years and with good reason.
